Spade: The suit of Spades in a deck of cards represents wisdom through experience and a relentless pursuit of perfection through hard work. Spade wants to use this driving force as the inspiration for it's first collection.
Alexander Campaz is an artist and designer based out of Brooklyn, NY. His work is focused on geometric color blocking and constructivist design. His most recent project titled Infinity +1 is an exploration of gray scales/gradation and its reflection on the cityscape. The project premiered at the Screen City Festival in Stavanger, Norway and the arts festival PAF in Olomouc, Czech Republic. He is currently working on an exhibition to further explore the project during late spring of 2016 in NYC.
YARDI represents a common thread that unites all Caribbeans when they are living abroad. Semantically the word alludes to the idea of a yard, the commonality of the same backyard. It is a term that unites all the Caribbean expats that now reside outside of their homeland and allows them to feel a sense of community. Through this ideal of unity, YARDI explores the Caribbean experience in New York City.
MAS 1990 is a street wear and t-shirt brand. It is currently developing new designs influenced by the international skate scene and the cities around the world that skaters call home.
AC/MAS is the collaborative project between designers Alexander Campaz and Marcello Savona. Fusing their interest in urban wear and architecture, they are creating a series of printed tee shirts that reflect a progressive yet minimal aesthetic.
Design East was founded in1983 by sculptor Emily Clark and painter Jon Millstein in a small storefront in the East Village. Selling one-of-a-kind, hand-painted shirts and jewelry, Jon and Emily rapidly became well known for their creative, artistic and high quality silk-screened t-shirts and graphic designs. The storefront also served as a gallery for their paintings and sculpture, showcasing the broad range of their talents.
